itel, a Transsion Holdings-owned company, is planning to launch 22 phones alongside a smart TV next year in India. In an interview with Gizbot, Transsion Holdings CEO, Arijeet Talapatra revealed some key details on the upcoming launches planned for the next year.
Talapatra shared that the company is planning to launch smart TV next year in India, under its itel brand. "Currently there are not many players who are offering Smart TV in an affordable segment and since it's a huge market, we will be launching a smart TV and music system in India."
Apart from launching smart TV in India, the company is all set to launch a new accessories brand called Villaon. However, itel is already selling Bluetooth-enabled products under its Oraimo brand.
Furthermore, itel has an aggressive plan for its smartphone and feature phone segment. The company is planning to launch seven smartphones and 15 feature phones in 2020. "We will be launching seven smartphones and 15 feature phones in 2020 in India," Talapatra informed Gizbot. Adding to that," The smartphone will be priced under Rs. 6000 and feature phones will be available at Rs. 1200." Besides, itel will be partnering with Airtel and Reliance Jio for the data benefits.
To recall, itel recently launched a new variant of its A46 smartphone with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage for Rs. 4,999. The new smartphone is available in four color options i.e Diamond Gray, Fiery Red, Neon Water, and Dark Water.
The smartphone sports 5.45-inch HD+ display with a screen resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels. The smartphone is powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core processor paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM. That can be expanded up to 128GB via a microSD card. Also, the smartphone comes with a fingerprint sensor along with the face unlock feature.
